Abstract

Nowadays there is an increasing use of adipose derived stem cells to treatment of many clinical situations. However the origin of these cellular components is unknown, due to different methods used to characterize the cells on researches published since those adipose derived stem cells were documented in the first time. It is possible to find the nominated of this kind of stem cell like endothelial cell, pericyte, hematopoietic stem cell and mesenchymal cell. Based on these findings, this work describes a review since historical aspects, molecular characterization and how this kind of stem cell can be used in the breast reconstructive surgery.
